Shell Scholarship for Malaysians

Published January 18th, 2006 in Scholarships

Shell - one of the largest petroleum companies in Malaysia; in fact, one of the pioneers of Malaysia’s critical petroleum industry - offers two local scholarships for Malaysian students. This means that the scholarships are only tenable for full-time first-degree studies at recognised universities, public (IPTA) or private (IPTS), in Malaysia.

Both scholarships are valued at RM7,800 per year plus an annual home passage. More importantly, the scholarship is simultaneously a need-based and merit-based scholarship as the combined parents’ basic salary of applicants must not be more than RM3,000 per month.

The difference between the two scholarships lies in the place of stay of applicants. West Malaysians can only apply for the Shell Malaysia Downstream Scholarship Scheme while East Malaysians (Sabah and Sarawak residents) must apply for the Shell Malaysia Exploration and Production (SM-EP) Scholarship Scheme.

In both cases, the required academic qualifications are rather low - at a minimum of 2Bs in any of the core STPM subjects inclusive of General Paper (Pengajian Am) for STPM students, and a CGPA of 3.00 and above for matriculation, diploma or foundation students.

Applications for this year are still not ready, but you can review last year’s application form for any sort of preparation you might desire. I’ll make sure to post when 2006 applications are open.

Just enquiring whether Shell M’sia give out scholarship to pursue diploma courses say at Uitm.

I’m afraid Shell does not. Only for degree studies, whether local or overseas.

But the Star Education Fund awards quite a large number of scholarships for diplomas at our local private colleges and universities. However, I’m afraid their deadline for applications has passed.

So i think this scholarship is great. I was just wondering whether Shell will offer the scholarship if your both parent combined salary is more than RM3000. The catch is I live with my mom only because she’s a single parent of two children after my parents divorce. Anyway I would love to pursue my dream in automobile engineering. My results are not great as I got 7A’s and 3B’s for my forecast. If I get a chance to do this. My aim will be to create the first Malaysian made Hyrogen cars!

I’m currently pursuing MBA in Project Management on part time basis. Is there a possibility for Shell to offer sholarship for working adults and later bond them for a certain period.
The idea is to provide training while studying. This will ensure that the scholar is fully available to join the Shell Team right after his studies.

hi all..congratz 4 those who excell in their exam..
now is the hardest event for all the spm and stpm leavers..
okay..for shell scholarship..its only sponsor who are pursue in degree..thats mean..who are going to go for matric or a level are not eligible to apply this scholarship..same goes to other scholarship as well..they often sponsor who r pursue in bachelor degree..if you go for matric,u will automatically get the kementerian scholarship..if u need more information bout scholarship..just type malaysian scholarship at the search engine..n 1 more..jpa ngn tunku abdul rahman scholarship is open now..hurry up guys coz its dateline is in the of march 2008..gudlck then..

I am learning the RUPP, Royal University of Phnom Penh.I really want to know oversea’s scholarship because i want to study outside country but i did not know subjects foriegn country. I hope one day i will go to study out. At the time, I like science of Chemistry,because of I studying English and Chemistry, RUPP.But in my country is lack of intrument in researching part of Sciences such as Chemistry, it is very low in my country so that I want to oversea to study the same modern country.

Dear shell,
I am a diploma holder, in electrical engineering from UTM KL and would like to further my study overseas in the states and maybe in the UK for the same course or biomedical engineering, the problem is that I have applied to several universities, the universities have respond and it requires me to have a sponsorship which I am trying to apply too. Which for one thing is very difficult. The intake is this fall 2008 but if I must, I am willing to take the January INTAKE 2009 not more than that. Whatever it takes. Can you help me? Seriously looking for a miracle.

I am looking for the scholarships award, i feel that Shell Scholarship is the ideal one for me, my stpm result was as follows:1A-(maths T),1B+ (PA)and 2B(Chemistry and Physics). Hope the best news from you.
