Napier University - located in Edinburgh, United Kingdom - is currently offering five scholarships, with four exclusively for undergraduate students. The scholarships are for first-year entries for full degrees, with one scholarship being offered for degrees in each faculty: Arts & Social Sciences, Health & Life Sciences, Engineering & Computing and the Napier Business School. The fifth and final scholarship will be open to undergraduate or postgraduate applicants to any faculty.

Now, for my personal take on the scholarship. Scholarships are always Good Things, but you must admit that the quality of the scholarship depends on the quality of the university you will be sponsored to. As it is, the Times Good University Guide 2006 reported that Napier is the top of the drop-out league, where 38 percent of students fail to complete their courses.

This is far worse that than the 15 percent national average. In fact, there are only 3 other universities with completion rates of less than 70 percent. Of course, this does not mean that Napier is at the bottom of the Times Rankings (that spot is occupied by Thames Valley University).

Now, I could be wrong, but those are the facts I have at hand. If I am wrong though, please give me a shout, and I will correct this immediately. After all, I do not want to be accused of libel.
