In honour of Datin Seri Endon Mahmood - the late wife of the Malaysian Prime Minister - Astro has setup the Datin Seri Endon Mahmood Scholarship Awards for up to two Malaysian students to study media and broadcasting related degrees in either local or overseas universities. This means that you can study almost anything, from engineering to design, as long as it is related to the media and broadcasting industry.

The scholarship itself is valued from RM8,000 per student per year for local tertiary institutions to a maximum of RM150,000 per student per year for overseas universities. Application requirements include being a qualified Astro subscriber (duh…) - meaning that you must have subscribed to Astro for at least one year - and having gained admission to an accredited local or overseas university.

The deadline for applications is 31st May, 2006 for foreign universities and 30th June for public Malaysian universities. For more information (including the online-only scholarship application form), visit Astro’s website.
